MAHALO MAY!

Kokua Pac

(Available 4/29 – 5/26 in Nevada and 4/29 – 6/2 in Hawaii, while supplies last)

Kokua Pac

For the month of May, we celebrate organizations that serve our communities by giving back. We invite you to participate through purchase of a Kokua Pac, where a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a new charity every week. And, for the first time ever, we are running the Kokua Pac in Vegas and selecting a slate of Vegas-specific non-profits to support!

HAWAII:

Mahalo May will run for 5 weeks in May in Hawaii (versus 4 in Las Vegas). When a guest purchases a Kokua Pac during the dates indicated, the designated charity will receive the proceeds:

April 29 – May 5: Partners in Development Foundation

Partners in Development Foundation draws on ʻike kupuna, ancestral wisdom and knowledge, to meet the current challenges facing Hawaiʻi. They serve the needs of young keiki, their caregivers, and economically vulnerable youth and families in the Hawaiian community to overcome systematic disparities and historical trauma. Their programs are guided by time-tested values and practices that honor people and place in caring for our islands and communities.

May 6 – May 12: Hawaii Chamber Music Festival (HCMF)

HCMF is dedicated to lifting the hearts and talents of Hawaii’s incredible youth musicians through positive mentorship and musicianship. World class classical artists collaborate with Hawaii’s most talented youth to provide a world-class learning and listening experience for all.

May 13 – May 19: Hale Makua Health Services (Maui)

Hale Makua is devoted to helping Maui’s Elders live their best lives. Hale Makua believes in helping Maui’s frail elderly and disabled individuals live vibrant, fulfilling lives in their care homes and within the community. This is another way that Zippy’s is assisting Maui’s on-going rebuilding efforts.

May 20 – May 26: Aloha Diaper Bank

Diaper need is a growing concern in the U.S. as 1 in 2 families struggle to afford enough diapers, leaving infants vulnerable to health risks. Moreover, 3 in 5 parents miss work or school due to diaper expenses, affecting their access to childcare services. No government assistance program pays for diapers. Aloha Diaper Bank’s mission is to address this issue, ensuring every child has access to clean diapers, promoting their well-being, and supporting parents in providing a healthy environment for their little ones.

BONUS Week May 27 – June 2: HUGS Hawaii

HUGS’ mission is to strengthen Hawaii’s families and improve their quality of life as they face the emotional and financial hardships of caring for a seriously ill child. HUGS is also honoring Zippy’s for our years of support at their gala event on May 25th.

LAS VEGAS:

April 29 – May 5: Opportunity Village

Opportunity Village is dedicated to helping people with disabilities find and become the very best version of themselves through workforce development, community employment, day services, inclusive housing, and arts and social recreation.

May 6 – May 12: Las Vegas Hawaiian Civic Club

LVHCC serves as a connection to Hawaii for the people and families of Las Vegas by providing educational opportunities, literacy and wellness efforts, and support to the Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander community in the Las Vegas valley.

May 13 – May 19: The Just One Project

The Just One Project is on a mission to increase access to food, resources, and services to build a stronger, healthier, and more connected community in Las Vegas. The Just One Project was founded with the mission of connecting the community through volunteering and inspiring people to give back. Since their inception, they have grown into a client-centric organization that touches over 17,000 lives monthly.

May 20 – May 26: Three Square

One in eight Southern Nevadans is food insecure – that’s more than 274,430 people who don’t always know where their next meal will come from. Three Square believes that “no one in our community should be hungry” and is on a mission to provide wholesome food to hungry people, while passionately pursuing a hunger-free community.
